The Public Trustee and Guardian will be closed from Thursday, 25 December 2025 and will reopen on Friday, 2 January 2026.

During this time, we cannot make decisions about financial, property, accommodation, or routine health care and support services.

If you need help while we are closed:

  • If someone has passed away and PTG holds a Will:
    • Contact a funeral director to arrange the funeral. You can report the estate when our office reopens.
  • Emergency guardianship application:
    • Speak with hospital social work staff.
  • Financial management clients:
    • Regular payments will continue during the closure.
    • Weekend and public holidays may affect payment dates.
    • No extra fund requests will be processed during this time.

Enquiries submitted via our website will be answered when we reopen on Friday, 2 January 2026.
